Walking/running around my neighborhood (ok, you got me, mostly walking) has become a constant in my life as I'm trying to make healthier choices. Today was just like any other, walking and listening to some Jesus music. Then, the sight that Jesus used to knock my socks off: There was a daddy pushing his little girl on her bike as she took off. It appeared to be one of the first times for her to ride without training wheels. As she took off down the road her dad had his hand on her seat, then slowly let go but stayed right there by her the whole way down the road. Then she turned around to head back home, and as they turned back to face me, there was a huge smile on the dad's face. You know the one; it says "that's my girl and I'm SO proud of her!"
As soon as I saw it, I just started tearing up. I didn't know why, felt like a stupid emotional girl. Then I realized THAT'S HOW GOD TREATS US!!!!!
He's right there with us, ready in case we fall, but even when we don't He just stays there for support, to give us that boost of confidence. And He's so proud of us, just like a daddy. Just think, when you take that step of faith to do something maybe not comfortable, yet God still looks at you with the biggest smile, because He's proud!
"The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in EVERY detail of their life." -Psalm 37:23
This is one of the verses I'm working on treasuring in my heart. Isn't it so good?? God delights in every detail...let it sink in..... Just like the daddy who smiles in approval as his little girl rides her bike for the first time, the Lord smiles on your life and DELIGHTS in even the smallest details. All those things that seem unimportant to you, work together for the bigger picture. Details, details, details. Aren't you glad that God is a God of details??
